Being an artistic form of encounter, performance art relies upon the practice of traveling as a means to overcome spatial, social and cultural distances. PAN Vienna and FAMA have invited artists to go on a journey to Vienna and Linz and to create an evening of performances together with local artists.
An evening of performances as a journey: unseen landscapes and strange people, far distances and sudden intimacies, shadows in the sunset, sounds.
PANik 10 is the second stopover in a round trip of performance artists from Cologne, Linz, and Vienna. The first visit took place in summer ’12 in Cologne as Austria-Colonia as a series of performance events with invited artists from Austria and the PAErsche performance network around Cologne and was organized by Evamaria Schaller and Rolf Hinterecker. As reaction and continuation to Austria-Colonia, Elisa Andeßner and Noah Holtwiesche invited the artists from Cologne to Linz, respectively Vienna to perform and show their work to the local audience, together with artists from both cities.

Als künstlerische Form der Begegnung beruht die Performance Kunst häufig auf der Praxis des Reisens als Mittel zur Überwindung räumlicher, sozialer und kultureller Distanzen. PAN Vienna und FAMA laden daher KünstlerInnen ein, nach Wien und Linz zu reisen und dort gemeinsam mit KünstlerInnen vor Ort einen Performance-Abend zu gestalten.
Ein Performance-Abend als Reise: Ungesehene Landschaften und fremde Menschen, weite Entfernungen und unmittelbar sich einstellende Nähe, Schatten im Abendlicht, Geräusche.
PANik 10 ist der zweite Zwischenstopp auf einer gemeinsamen Reise von Performance-KünstlerInnen aus Köln, Linz und Wien. Der erste Halt fand im Sommer 2012 in Köln als Austria-Colonia statt und war eine Serie von Performance-Veranstaltungen mit KünstlerInnen aus Österreich und dem PAErsche Performance-Netzwerk in Köln, organisiert von Evamaria Schaller und Rolf Hinterecker. Als Reaktion und Fortführung dieses Impulses, haben Elisa Andeßner and Noah Holtwiesche KünstlerInnen von PAErsche, Linz und Wien eingeladen, zusammen mit den KünstlerInnen vor Ort Performances zu zeigen.
Nach PANik 10 findet der dritte Halt der gemeinsamen Reise in Linz an der Donau beim PERFORMANCELABORATORIUM 07 statt, am 6. September 2013, um 19:00 im Raum für Gegenwartskunst bb15.
PANik 10 ist eine Veranstaltung von PAN Vienna und dem Kulturverein FAMA in Kooperation mit dem weissen haus und wird vom Kulturamt der Stadt Wien unterstützt.
